Event Description

The Compassionate Action Network is expanding rapidly and strengthening many key relationships. It's time to take the next steps on our global collaboration of a Compassionate Cities initiative.
Our work on Compassionate Seattle was essential to inform our preliminary thinking on what is required to create a compassionate city; we are certainly beginners!

Here is a quick summary:
• We successfully completed the Seattle 10 Year Campaign that that led to the joint proclamation and charter for compassion affirmation by the Mayor and the City Council
• We co-hosted and debriefed the April 24th Compassionate Seattle: It's Up to Us! event
• We engaged in a retreat with our board of stewards and advisors
• We hosted Karma Tshiteem, the secretary of the Gross National Happiness Index Commission from Bhutan
• We have started a Compassion Response Team to evolve community-based responses to conflicts and crises.
• We are now ready to focus on strengthening this network of individuals, groups, and organizations interested in a global collaboration focused on creating Compassionate Cities.

There is plenty of overlap on our joint creations, thank you for your participation and making all this happen.

WHAT DOES A NETWORK OF COMPASSIONATE CITIES LOOK LIKE?

I propose that we have three 90 minute brainstorming sessions, using GoToMeeting, in which we co-create our vision, mission, and plan for Compassionate Cities for this year. You are welcome to participate in as many calls as you want to. (If you have been on these calls you know that I'm a mind mapper, so we will keep a shared record of what gets brainstormed. We will also record the calls so if anyone wants to view and listen to them afterwards.)

GLOBAL TIME ZONES ARE TRICKY
To accommodate the variety of time zones I'm proposing three calls, at very different times. Times shown are in Pacific Standard Time
Wednesday June 23 at 1 PM PST
Thursday June 24 at 8 AM PST
Thursday June 24 at 7 PM PST

Jon, I have much gratitude for your expertise and skill in facilitating all three of these calls! Thank you!

I also appreciated the sound quality, which I imagine has a cost attached to it. Freeconferencecall.com is quite noisy.

Jon Ramer is facilitating this call. I'm scheduled to be in a focus group before this conference call. If it goes too long, I won't be able to join. I was on the call yesterday that was excellent. Thanks.
