This basic intensive introduces the fundamentals of Compassionate Listening and our core practices: Cultivating Compassion for ourselves and others; Developing the Fair Witness by remaining open in conflict situations; Respecting Self and Others by developing boundaries which protect yet include; Listening with the Heart - finding a deeper point of connection; and Speaking from the Heart with language which reflects a healing intention.
Our practice offers listening as a healing process and develops our capacity to feel compassion for the ‘other’, to see ourselves in the ‘other’, and to see the ‘other’ in ourselves. Many professionals, teachers, parents, counselors, coaches, mediators, etc. have found their work greatly enhanced through integrating the practices of Compassionate Listening. Your personal life will be enhanced, with improved relationships with family, friends and co-workers, helping to bring peace and healing to the world – and bring compassionate support to yourself.
We recommend that participants take both days, although they can sign up for Day 1 on its own and take Day 2 at a later time. Those who have taken a previous Day within the past year can sign up for Day 2 on its own.
