Event Description

Greetings friends, peers and colleagues,

As we watch the US grapple with healthcare reform, there are many of us who realize the current proposed changes do not even come close to what is really needed. We know so much more than the system is willing to admit, endorse or even consider. Many of us feel it is time to design a healthcare system that has much greater capacity for healthcare delivery.

You are receiving this email because you already participate in some way in leading edge healthcare practices, and/or design. Many of us who live on this leading edge have been quietly designing our own personal health generation programs. We have been figuring out how to mesh ancient knowledge with modern technology, and actively working with our own health and wellbeing on multiple dimensions simultaneously. What if we, collectively are actually "being" the future of healthcare delivery in how we look after ourselves, our families, our communities, and our planet?

The four of us (Mark Jones, Candi Foon, Elizabeth Fowler and Kim Adams) have been collaborating for over a year in envisioning a healthcare delivery system that would help the human community survive and thrive past our current global crises.

We feel that a functional and insightful system is essential not only in supporting health creation, but also in generating the kind of mindset that will support humans in living a more generative co-existence on this planet. A system that generates health must by definition generate health for all life, on the whole spectrum from the life of the soul to the life of the soil.

We believe that the centrality of business models and treatment modalities must address healthcare across a "Whole-Life Cycle", versus "Episodic" care engagement — a whole-person whole-system approach that focuses on prevention rather than intervention. We also feel health and wellness strategies need to be based on individual (personal) and collective (community) awareness and responsibility. We believe that an emphasis on personal health creation in the context of community support will decrease recidivism, and decrease the rate of growth in healthcare costs.

We would like to invite you to a meal and conversation to share our individual and mutual designs of health systems we may have invisibly built for ourselves (and others) over our years of personal growth, investigation, experimentation and manifestation. Our intention is to convene a broad cross-section of representatives of the “whole system” of healthcare and wellness to explore and bring out into public discussion all that we have learned and created in our lives on the subject of health generation.

Calling Question:
1. What becomes possible, or can be done more efficiently and effectively together — than can be accomplished separately?
2. What are the healthcare practices, system designs, projects — important issues and solutions — where there is readiness for and would benefit from our collective support?

When: September 15, 2010

Where: GGLO | 1301 1st Avenue | Seattle, WA 98101 | (206) 467-5828

What: Dinner with Elizabeth and Kim role-playing into being a version of a new system. Desert and collective design creation to follow.

We hope you will join us in the exploration of what we already know, and how close we may be to being able to manifest a viable and sustainable system our planet is calling forth. We think we collectively already know and practice this system in our own lives. It's time to elucidate it and make it public knowledge.

Mark Jones, Candi Foon, Elizabeth Fowler and Kim Adams

Thank you for organizing this event. Yes, "We also feel health and wellness strategies need to be based on individual (personal) and collective (community) awareness and responsibility." We can bridge and fill in some of the gaps in the old and promised system...
Will plan on joining if I'm in town.
