presents

"The Tribe of Ibrahim, a dervish perspective"
with Haji rifaat Osborne.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam spring from one source. We all worship one God; the God of the Prophet Ibrahim, may Allah’s peace and blessing be upon Ibrahim and all of his descendants. There are countless teaching tales and dervish stories about this subject. Inshallah, Haji rifaat will bring some of these tales, and share some practices that strengthen the bonds of love between the different branches of our religion, and all religions. Recognizing our common humanity is our first step to becoming human. It is an opportunity to embrace the divine within ourselves, to be of service to God’s creation.

Co-created with and hosted by Rev. Karen Lindquist
Co-sponsored with The Interfaith Network

About Haji rifaat:
Haji rifaat Osborne has followed the dervish path of the Jerrahi Order for 33 years. “I am a worker bee. My submission is to Allah. Titles mean nothing. The work is all. Everything else is ashes and dust. The Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him, shows us a straight path to Allah. It is not the only path to Allah. My sheikh told us ‘There are as many roads to paradise as there are believers to make the trip.’
My life’s goal is that when I die, Pir Nureddin al-Jerrahi, the saint who founded my order, will claim me as ‘My Dervish, rifaat’.”
As-salaam aleikum.
