The agenda looks great. Since not everyone is a CAN member, I would encourage every single person on the leadership team to send out targeted emails to their networks & the people who care about co-creating the future of compassion in our region.

The agenda and plan for Sunday, July 11 at 7 PM Compassionate Seattle: What’s Next? is coming together wonderfully! Please plan to attend and RSVP here.

The Recovery Café is a fabulous refuge for healing and transformation. When we arrive Steven J. Wright will have begun his graphic recording of the evening. We'll be showing some clips and images from the Seeds of Compassion and the Compassionate Action Network.

Our Chairman Anil Singh-Molares will welcome us and introduce Rafe Pearlman who will use his amazing singing talents to connect us.

We'll set the framing questions and then hear from City Council President Richard Conlin and Mark R. Jones CEO of Sunyata Group.

We'll then engage in three rounds of dialogue focusing on What's Next? The questions are:
Round 1 - Imagine a city or culture in which compassion was the likely response: What would that look like and what is required to make it happen?

Round 2 - Where do you see compassionate responses happening already? and what is needed to strengthen these examples?

Round 3 - What are you currently contributing and what do you need or want from CAN to strengthen your work?

We will then do a collective reflection and process that encourages each of us to act as “spotters” identifying and pointing out potential collaborations and connections. The complex challenges we face requires us to address them collectively. The focus for our time together will be to identify priorities for this next year that extend our reach and expand our capacity to create together a compassionate world. If you have any questions or comments please share them. We look forward to seeing you there!

Last night I had July 11th design conversations with Mark Jones and Susan Partnow. These discussion built upon the work we had already done with and Emily Hine and Anne Stadler. I'm very happy with how the evening is coming together. I will have a preliminary agenda to share in a few days. Please plan to be there. Here is the event page where you can RSVP.

We are also planning another Compassionate Cities brainstorming call for 7 PM this evening, details are here. Please stay engaged. You make a difference!

A number of you expressed an interest in being on the design team and the convening circle for the 7-11 Compassionate Seattle: What's Next?
We'll be having a 60 minute design session to focus on the plan for the event on Wednesday at 7:30 PM. Here is the event page.

"Over the past two years a Compassion Movement has begun in Seattle that is being complemented & strengthened by efforts throughout the region in Bellingham, Vancouver, BC Portland and beyond. Join us to celebrate where we’ve been and to dialogue about where we are going together."

Let me know how you want to participate on 7-11.

As the summer solstice approaches many of us are in motion as the “sun is spiraling its longest dance”. Earlier today I sent out a news post about upcoming Compassionate Seattle: What's Next?

I'm writing to put out THE CALL for those who are interested in being part of the design team for this event.

COMPASSIONATE SEATTLE: WHAT’S NEXT?
The event will take place at the Recovery Café on Sunday, July 11 at 7 PM. Please mark your calendars and attend
if you are available. Details are here.

To participate on the design team will take 4 to 8 hours over the next four weeks. We want your design suggestions, community connections, and desire to grow personally and collectively. We will mostly meeting via GoToMeeting calls and one or two face to face sessions that will be fun and delicious! If you're interested in participating please let me know.

There is a groundswell happening in our community and around the world. We are planning to go deep here in our city and region while building a network of compassionate cities. Please read on.

CAMPAIGN FOR COMPASSIONATE CITIES
There will be three 90 minute brainstorming calls focusing on this global collaboration taking place next week (Wednesday and Thursday). Please join the Compassionate Cities group to stay informed.

There are amazing people around the world we are working with to bring this network into form. It is inspiring to hear their stories. For example read the posts from David Breaux based in Davis, California.

Karma Tshiteem, the Secretary of Gross National Happiness from the country of Bhutan is now a member of the Compassionate Action Network. He was recently in town and we will be adapting the Bhutan indicators to do a survey of our fellow neighbors.

David Hazen has shared with us a Culture of Peace Index developed by the UN for cities make such a self-assessment.

What an inspiring network is emerging. All the right people are showing up. We have all the resources that we need. It's time for each of us to motivate ourselves to move to the next level. If you're interested in compassionate cities in our region please come on July 11. If you're interested in working to build a network of compassion cities please be sure to join us in one of our brainstorming calls taking place next week. I'm so grateful to be a part of such a meaningful network.

Hello, All - I am still on a hunt for the hand stamps that I brought to the Compassionate Seattle event on the 24th. I haven't had anyone comment as to where they might be. I am also in need of the cash box that went off with Anil, at some point during the evening, as it did not belong to me but to one of our volunteers. It has Gloria Riggers name in a black marker on the inside. These stamps can be easily replaced, except for the fact they were given to me by a friend who passed shortly after, so they hold some heart value to me, and I would like to try and get them back. Anyone got any ideas? I'd be happy to follow up on any suggestions....thanks, Joanne
