How do we live so we humans are a part of nature...not apart from it? 12 Replies

I saw Avatar today and was so moved by the representation of our connection to all. It was beautiful and amazing. I can feel my DNA changing.

Here's a poem that says IT!

BLESSING By James Wright

Just off the highway to Rochester, Minnesota,
Twilight bounds softly forth on the grass.
And the eyes of those two Indian ponies
Darken with kindness.
They have come gladly out of the willows
To welcome my friend and me.
We step over the barbed wire into the pasture
Where they have been grazing all day alone.
They ripple tensely, they can hardly contain their
happiness
That we have come.
They bow shyly as wet swans. They love each other.
There is no loneliness like theirs.
At home once more,
They begin munching the young tufts of spring in the
darkness.
I would like to hold the slenderer one in my arms,
For she has walked over to me
And nuzzled my left hand.
She is black and white,
Her mane falls wild on her forehead,
And the light breeze moves me to caress her long ear
That is delicate as the skin over a girl’s wrist.
Suddenly I realize
That if I stepped out of my body I would break
Into blossom.

Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they document their journey so that we can find a way to take action in our lives. Here is the link, they are uploading photos, videos and commentary regularly. http://www.midwayjourney.com

Please direct your compassionate attention to Journey to Midway: a record of Chris Jordan, Victoria Sloan Jordan, Bill Weaver as they document the horrifying reality of our collective use of plastics on the living creatures inhabiting Midway Island. Midway Island is in the center of a gyre of plastic trash hundreds of miles across that is in the middle of the Pacific ocean. Albatross parents feed their parent the plastic that washes up on all the beaches. They die in huge numbers...absolutely full of plastic. It is almost beyond one's capacity to take in. Their service is immense: the canaries in the coal mine of planetary human unconsciousness! Pray that we learn from this sacred wake-up gift that Chris, Victoria, Bill and their team are offering the world!! Google Journey to Midway to see their diary.

Oh, Anne, and all. Thank you for this pivotal conversation. I feel blessed to be part of it with each of you.

I believe that the natural world is inviting - imploring - us back to the sacred harmony, balance and rythms that flow all around us. The horse collective is stepping forward to offer guidance on this part of our journey. They are close enough to us for us to listen, and still close enough to the naturual world to hold themselves in the mystery.

We look forward to continue this conversation. Namaste.

Hello there! My name is Karma and I have been looking for over a year now for some information and locations of any/all sweat lodges in the near Seatlle area. I find a spiritual healing and a cleansing of my mind, body, soul and spirit when I am in one,and when I walk out of the sweat,I've never felt more beautifully cleansed and light. Since I found out about my two sons deaths, one commited suicide and the other was shot and killed,I need to find a sweat like yesterday! In there I can "CRY" "PRAY" and know I am SAFE and not judged or looked down on or made to feel any less or more than the person next to me. I LOVE the darkness and the chanting, the singing is so LOUD and BEAUTIFUL it is mesmerizing and hypnotizing that I just get lost and I am not in THIS physical world anymore! I was hoping someone could help me find a sweat and let me know of the locations and dates and times of any. Please help me help myself and I belive you as well, will be greatly rewarded and Blessed for your unselfish, kind, thoughtfulness to go out of your way for another in such desperate need such as I am!!
Thank You So Very Much!
Always In Spirit

Happy Birthday, Duff! What a beautiful world view and a tiny visitor to remind you of it. I look forward to getting together with you when I come up for air on these events. My birthday present to you is to come to Stanley Krippner's Personal Mythology workshop on May 1-3 and go deeper into your hummingbird story. Let me know if you want to do that. I just have a feeling it would mean a lot to you.

BIRTHDAY HUMMINGBIRD

Does anyone have insights or tales or wisdom about hummingbirds?

Yesterday on my birthday, a hummingbird came to me and hovered about three feet over my head, before zipping away.

To celebrate my birthday, I walked to Discovery Park and my favorite Tree Grotto. This grotto is just across the dirt path from the big cedar where Anne and I first met as our Living With All Our Relations group.

My grotto offers a world apart from the one dominated by us two-leggeds. It has two giant cedars and a towering fir, plus a thicket of smaller trees and shrubs. The lowest cedar branches swoop down, kiss the Earth, arc back up toward the sky, and then erupt in green fronds. These branches create an open, secluded world that is like a cave and like a cathedral. I can see out. But no one can see in—except the birds.

I sit still and silent and the birds come to me.

Yesterday, a sparrow scratched the duff and flitted on the perimeter of the grotto. It kept its distance from me, searching among the cedar droppings for food. A pair of chickadees cavorted in the branches close to me. One chickadee lit on a branch about five feet in front of my face and looked directly at me, unafraid. It flew to join its mate in the next cedar.

Then I saw motion above me. I thought it was one of the chickadees. I looked up. Directly over my head, not more than three feet above my crown chakra, hovered my Birthday Hummingbird! I had no time to be astonished before it darted off and disappeared.

There was no greenery or flowers where this magic bird hovered over me, only the bare bark of the cedar trunk and its big branches. Hummingbird clearly hovered over my head to be near me.

I’m still breathless from this visitation by hummingbird. But it comes to me now that hummingbird was thanking me for defending Our Rainforests and All Our relations.

Our climate activist group, One Earth Climate Action Group, has added a new strategy to our mix of strategies as we try to defend Our Earth from destruction by biofuels. One week ago, we placed Seattle mayor Greg Nickels under Citizens’ Arrest for Crime Against Humanity and Crime Against the Earth. Seattle is a major consumer of biofuels that cause rampant rainforest destruction and massively worsen our Climate Crisis.

Here’s a link to a brief YouTube video of police forcibly ejecting me from the room where Nickels tried to speak at the Green Fest. Despite repeated threats to arrest me, police declined to do that each time I tried to arrest Nickels, on stage and off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1Dpm2MtdeM

Powerful experiences continue to come my way. A week ago, we arrested Nickels. Yesterday, my Birthday Hummingbird visited.

Both happened in service to All Our Relations.

In Compassion,

Duff
