Hi - I am writing to ask for your support in creating a compassionate world. When I started the Compassionate Action Network I was hoping that social networks could be part of how we activate the will and find a way to make just and lasting change. I am grateful that you joined this network and I sincerely hope that it has made some difference in your life and your community.

It was the action part of compassionate action that got my attention. So now I invite you to be part of taking another step forward together. I ask that you take two minutes to join the 10 Year Campaign for Compassionate Cities if you haven’t already.

We need 1,000 people to join by March 15 to have the Mayor and City Council follow through on their end. If you personally join the campaign and share or send this on to others we will take a big collective step forward in building our capacity to make change happen. This is not just another petition, what you do will make a difference. You can learn more about this here

You don’t need to be a Seattle resident to join this campaign, and this idea is spreading. Campaigns have started or are starting in Vancouver, BC, Bellingham, Bellevue, Issaquah, Spokane, Portland, San Francisco, and London.

If there ever was a time to stand together and affirm that what each of us does and does not do makes a difference it is now. I ask that you find the time to add your name to the growing list of people awakening compassion in our cities and our world. Join here now

EOS Alliance, Tools for Change and Sustainable North East Seattle present:
Events on Transition Town Initiative

Preparing for Transition: Introducing the Transition Town model for creating vibrant resilient communities with William Aal, Certified Transition Trainer and Tools for Change principle
to register: http://eosalliance.org/sust-302_04-09_seattle.htm

2) May 2, 3 8:30-5:30 Training for Transition:

transition initiative. Explore the context for Transition, the life cycle of an Initiative, and more
with William Aal, Cindi Landreth, Rick Dubrow, and David Johnson – all Certified Transition Trainers
to register: http://netspeedlearning.com/transition/
The Transition Town model is being used around the world to help communities become more resilient in response to climate change and "peak oil". The objectives of the Transition Town process are to:
- Explore and then follow community pathways to practical actions that will reduce our carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels; and
- Build community resilience to withstand shocks from the outside through being more self reliant in areas such as food, energy, health care, and economics.
The process develops symbiotic relationships that tap into the genius residing within our communities, and which allows communities to determine how they will transition towards "energy descent."
These relocalization efforts are designed to result in a life that is more fulfilling, socially connected, and resilient

Workshop Topics:
•An overview of the Transition Town model
•Understanding the context for transition
•Exploring how this model has evolved so far
•Tools for community building •Learning the main steps of transition
•Taking steps in participating towards transition
•What’s emerging in the US, and the world
•Energy Descent Action Pathways
