December 18, 2011 from 12pm to 4pm
Join us in passing out an info flyer on holidays as something other than a consumerist frenzy, along with free gift certificates for 20 minutes of non-judgmental listening, 3 hugs and a shoulder to cry on, and one heartfelt apology (even if I think I'm right). And, we need to demonstrate these skills - compassionate listeners and huggers needed! Also, people with signs, particularly in humorous costume - Commander Claus, Krampus the Christmas demon, the Ghost of the Christmas Present, anyone?…See More

Thanks, John - I welcome being involved in this effort.  I have been in touch with Elle about this, and am looking for specific opportunities to engage such as inviting participation, interviewing, filming or some other way.  Please let me know of opportunities.  Regards,

Jim

Thanks John!

I found Peace Artist's latest blog entry uber-inspiring. I am so happy for him as he awakens to deeper & deeper levels of "radical Compassion", and I am equally happy for every person who has been and will be blessed to meet him on his Journey. I'm looking forward to watching the video you shot of his departure ... be well, dear Friend!

Terrific, John. Good luck with the meditation group at ACRS.

I had been gone in Asia for some months. Will get back into local events more now.

Keep in touch.

Hi - I am writing to ask for your support in creating a compassionate world. When I started the Compassionate Action Network I was hoping that social networks could be part of how we activate the will and find a way to make just and lasting change. I am grateful that you joined this network and I sincerely hope that it has made some difference in your life and your community.

It was the action part of compassionate action that got my attention. So now I invite you to be part of taking another step forward together. I ask that you take two minutes to join the 10 Year Campaign for Compassionate Cities if you haven’t already.

We need 1,000 people to join by March 15 to have the Mayor and City Council follow through on their end. If you personally join the campaign and share or send this on to others we will take a big collective step forward in building our capacity to make change happen. This is not just another petition, what you do will make a difference. You can learn more about this here

You don’t need to be a Seattle resident to join this campaign, and this idea is spreading. Campaigns have started or are starting in Vancouver, BC, Bellingham, Bellevue, Issaquah, Spokane, Portland, San Francisco, and London.

If there ever was a time to stand together and affirm that what each of us does and does not do makes a difference it is now. I ask that you find the time to add your name to the growing list of people awakening compassion in our cities and our world. Join here now

Hey John,

Nice photo. Glad you'll be spending your birthday with us this Saturday. It's going to be great.

And thanks for arranging the training. It was sheer joy to see people soften and connect to the gentleness within despite the physical posture and time limit etc. Take care!
