I wish I lived in Seattle so I could attend such events. I am, however, ordering the book, and have downloaded/saved the documents pertaining to leading a reading group. Anybody in the Katy (Houston) Texas area interested?

We had our first ACRS Staff Open Meditation Group meeting today and 4 people came!  Here are our guidelines:

"O P E N means that any staff or intern is welcome to attend during the usual lunch hour.
OPEN means that any meditation or prayer practices are welcome as long as they are silent.
OPEN means you do not have to be of any particular religious or faith background or any at all (non-sectarian).
OPEN means that if you don’t get there on time (between 12:30 – 12:35), you can still come in and quietly enter and sit down. OPEN means that if you need to leave early, you can do that quietly.
What we will do:
-we will sit in a circle on chairs or the floor as each person prefers
-we will turn off our cell phones or set to vibrate (if you want to check who is calling, please leave the room)
-we will each say our names before we start (in case we don’t know each other)
-we will be ring a bell to start and finish a 20 minute period (12:35 -12:55 PM) for meditation/prayer
-we will have an optional time for talking from 12:55-1:00 PM
-we will generate a peaceful, mindful, calm, and quiet space
-we will return to work refreshed

No need to RSVP, just show up as you are led,"
Peace!
