Hello compassionistas, This is more news than events although it is an upcoming event in SF.  I recently saw this through a friend in Sweden (who is inspired by CAN and what has been done in Seattle and wants to host similar events in Sweden) and was so inspired by their intention, list of speakers and that there is a TEDx focussed so beautifully on Teaching Compassion. They ask a most powerful question:  Are we entering into an era of Compassion? Why Teach Compassion?Compassion — the devotion…See More

December 2, 2010 from 7pm to 9pm
"Facing Fate, Finding A Destiny" is an evening of story and discussion with author and mythologist Michael Meade. According to ancient myths, each soul makes two agreements upon entering the world. Join us for an evening of poetry, stories and discussion — of these "agreements," of identity and meaning, of purpose and passion, and wisdom and healing.

TEDxGoldenGate - Teaching Compassion

What does Compassion have to do with Climate Neutrality?

I am unable to sleep because of an injured ankle and the resulting pain, so it has me up pondering the big questions of life and how those seemingly 'big' questions trickle down into the smaller implications of what choices are ahead of us each day and the relationships between everything.

Synergy to me is a key social function that we have yet to fully understand and I believe it is about whole systems design, living in right relationship to the whole, and recognizing the… Continue

Compassion Revisited: The Force of Love is the Force of Total Revolution

"Compassion is a spontaneous movement of

wholeness. It is not a studied decision to help the poor, to be kind to

the unfortunate. Compassion has a tremendous momentum that naturally,

choicelessly moves us to worthy action. It has the force of

be cultivated; it derives neither from intellectual conviction nor from

emotional reaction. It is simply there when the wholeness…

"Imaginal Cells" Global Change Strategy

I'm reading Peter Merry's Imaginal Cells Global Change Strategy and I highly recommend it. Big chunks of his thinking, particularly related to imaginal cells metaphor within networks, have been themes and memes in my own thinking and work for the past 9 years. I love the synthesis and synergy he's done here. Fantastic!

Compassion and the Media - Developing News and Communication Systems that Encourage Greater Compassion

Hello friends,

Why Compassion and Media? I believe these two words have much in common and are intimately bound together because media in the broadest sense is all about how we communicate, what stories we choose to communicate, and the larger story-field from which we draw inspiration. And compassion is a way of relating that impacts all areas of our life, including the sector of Media & Communications.

If after reading this blog post and the… Continue

Hi Sherri - The good news is that I registered for the unconference over a week ago at Anne Stadler's urging and had my pre-conference meeting this morning with the other attendee with whom I was paired. It went very well...

Kind Regards,

So great to meet you the other night, fellow Aquarian! That was a really lovely evening, and I hope we get the chance to spend more time together in that magical space of creative minds and Comapssionate Action! I'm sure we will.
