Leah & Susan,

Though I've not been trained through the Compassionate Listening Project, I have learned that to be compassionate requires in part to be fully present, to listen to the heart and with the heart.

I have a few ideas of activities in support of the Charter for Compassion launch during the week of Nov. 12, one of which is based on the theme of compassionate listening.

Wanted to invite you and The Compassionate Listening Project to join in the coordination of activities through this CAN group, a session at the Oct. 17th Seattle Center event and hopefully conversations with one another.

p.s. Susan, I know you're already involved with the San Fran seminar on 11/12, which actually makes your contribution even more crucial if you're interested in supporting any Charter for Compassion activities in the Northwest. Blessings~

Martin Luther King Jr. and compassion

"True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar. It comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring." --Martin Luther King Jr. May we honor MLK's life with efforts towards transformation.
