Congratulations! 10 Year Campaign for Compassionate Cities Reaches the 1000 Person Tipping Point

CAN is pleased to announce that over 1000 people have now joined the 10 Year Campaign for Compassionate Cities! Congratulations to CAN Executive Director Jon Ramer for being the sheer force of nature that drove us to accomplish this goal. Thanks also to CAN members, plus their family and friends that helped us reach the 1000 person goal before the March 15th deadline.

Next Step: For people who live in the Seattle area or are willing to visit, please save April 24, 2010. The Center for Spiritual Living in Seattle has graciously offered space to host a celebration that will kick-off the campaign's 10 year cycle in Seattle.

More information to follow soon.

Kind Regards,
PamKM

I hope everybody involved takes a moment to savor this accomplishment. It may seem like a small seed, a tiny step in a world overwhelmed with hardship and anxiety . . . but it is absolutely a step in the right direction. And it will grow.

When I woke up this morning we needed 90 people to tip the campaign. I thought we would make it by Monday, but I wasn't considering it a done deal. Then I sent out an invitation to "be a part of history" and the rest is history. People just kept signing up. At 1:19 PM Emily sent me a message titled 30 More to Go and stating that she knew we would tip today and a friend was going into labor with her first child. Here is a snapshot of my inbox from 3:12 to 3:59 PM:

I'll never forget today. Thank you to everyone for coming together to build our capacity to act on behalf of compassion!
