Liberia Peacebuilder Initiative off to a great start: compassionate listening warmly received

Just back from Liberia where I visited over 20 non profits and organizations to create partnerships and find funding for Global Citizen Journey's joint venture (with Liberian NGO Population Caring Organization) to create the Liberia Peacebuilder Inititiave. We were warmly received: we will be able to cultivate collaboration and build on the existing networks to create a network of network a la CAN style amongs facilitators, mediators, and peacemakers in Liberia. We offered a mini summit to try out our approach and the 27 diverse participants we gathered were greatly enthused. We offered one day of Compassionate Listening training and deeply touched the hearts of these Liberians who have suffered so much. We also taught Restorative Justice-Circles, approaches to Forgiveness, and Town Hall techniques utilizing World Cafe and Open Space. It was a trip filled with "Compassion in Action."
